St. Mary Lectors (updated 5/14/2014)
Thank you all for the ministry you do over the years with all the “special” days we have besides weekend Masses.
Just a reminder, the SECOND LECTOR will read the announcements before Mass. Check in downstairs per usual. Make sure you have the announcements for the coming week. The bells ring prior to each Mass. When the bells have finished ringing (it's very difficult to hear in the back of the church while the bells are ringing) go up to the Lectern using the side steps and read the announcements….beginning with Good morning and welcome to St. Mary’s or something similar. After reading the announcements go back to your seat using the side steps from the Lectern. Do not bow either time. Fr. Charlie wishes to leave some time for reflection after communion.
First Lector goes up to the Lectern to read the petitions as soon as Fr. Charlie begins the prayer prior to the petitions. DON’T WAIT UNTIL HE IS FINISHED. When you have finished leave the altar by the front steps and bow.
Note: 4:30 and 11:00 Masses seem to be packed most weekends. If there is no place to sit by the servers after the second reading prior to reading the petitions just go back to the front row. Keep it simple.
